July At The Multiplex

Presentation Have you at any point asked why lawbreakers are blameless until demonstrated liable, why individuals would prefer to choose to seek after a settlement as opposed to shield the case in court, or even why clear crooks are named honest in government courts? Dynamic in the equity framework accept a comparable methodology as theory testing in insights (Rogers, standard. One). Much the same as factual choices, legitimate choices result into two sorts of errors.Advertising We will compose a custom research paper test on July At The Multiplex explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More This exposition, subsequently, utilizes the data from a contextual investigation, â€Å"July At The Multiplex: A Day At The Movies†, to draw a comprehension of type I and type II blunders from a lawful perspective. To help accomplish this, the article looks to give answers to effectively structured inquiries as represented underneath. When might the consortium make a Type I mista ke? A Type II mistake? For the situation study gave, Tommy takes steps to document a legal claim against theater proprietors. Filling in as a consortium, theater proprietors gauge their conceivable outcomes in court. With an invalid speculation expressing that, over 10% of theatergoers are discontent with the 20 minutes ads show schedule, the consortium needs to settle on a choice on whether to continue to court or look for a settlement with Tommy. In dynamic, type I blunder is made when the invalid speculation is dismissed when it is in reality obvious (Easton and McColl, standard. 7). For this situation, the consortium would make a sort I blunder when they adhere to their supposition that solitary less than10% of moviegoers is discontent with the ads thus proceed onward to safeguard the case in court when a settlement would be increasingly suitable. In the event that the consortium move to court on such a choice, Tommy will in all probability have a solid body of evidence against them and they won't just lose the case, yet in addition bring about expenses of shielding the claim. Then again, Type II mistake is made when the invalid theory is acknowledged when it is in reality wrong dependent on accessible realities (Easton and McColl, standard. 9). For this situation, the consortium would make a sort II mistake when they reach at a resolution that over 10% of moviegoers is discontent with the ads and thus settle on a choice to look for a settlement with Tommy as opposed to continuing to shield the claim. By so doing, the consortium gives up while they would have won the case and wind up assuming the liability of resettlement.Advertising Looking for research project on business financial matters? Out of these, six (6%) respondents loathed the advertisements implying that the invalid theory above ought to be dismissed. In any case, this outcome may not be genuine when an a lot bigger or littler information test is utilized. Crashing into a definitive strategy will requires utilization of test insights like the calculation of z esteem. z esteem guides on choices on dismissing or tolerating the invalid theory relying upon the standard ordinary appropriation (Easton and McColl, standard. 10). The processed z 1.33, which is more prominent than basic z esteem; consequently an end can be drawn that the invalid speculation be received reg ardless of whether the fundamental calculations expressed something else. Employee Relations and High Performance Work Practices

Question: Examine about the Employee Relations and High Performance Work Practices. Answer: Presentation Work connection is connected with advancement and upkeep of relationship in the middle of the business and the representatives. It is the duty of the business to actualize the proficient human asset practice in the association to improve their exhibition. In the given circumstance it is recognized that the past proprietor of the organization isn't stressed over the representatives. He was progressively worried in recovering the profitability. The businesses were not focusing towards the security of the laborers. This circumstance proposes that the association need to actualize effective procedures so as to accomplish long haul manageability (Hendry, 2012). Situational examination According to the contextual investigation, it is seen that the Top Trucking Company is doing great in its business. The representatives were not happy with the organization standards in regards to the Human Resource Policies. The commanding idea of the worker has lead to high representative turnover. The obligations were assigned to the laborers as indicated by the comfort of the supervisor. The workers were not permitted to share their perspectives in dynamic. The organization was not making costs on improving the foundation. This brought about an expansion in the quantity of mishaps in the production line. It is expanding the worry identified with the security of the workers. The workers are constantly demonstrating disappointment towards the administration because of their uninformed conduct. The present situation has gotten more awful because of the conduct of old proprietor. The present proprietor has handover the possession which requires significant changes in the Human Resour ce Management. Changes Required In the given circumstance it is necessitated that the progressions are fundamental in the organization so as to build up the present structure. It is appear that the representatives at the Top Truck Company are exceptionally disappointed with the HRM strategies. As per the representatives it is the most noticeably terrible work environment taking a gander at the present circumstance. The hierarchical structure doesnt focus towards the workers complaints (Armstrong Taylor, 2014). Their solitary want is to expand the general efficiency without paying any thought to the workers. This requires a legitimate examination concerning the issue and changes should be executed so as to recover the most extreme advantage. It is important that the progressions are presented in a methodical way so representatives can join the adjustments in their day by day life. The representatives can possibly work for a brief period on the off chance that they are approached to work under extraordinary tension. The proprietor of the organization has just made such huge numbers of inconveniences in the association. This has prompted an expansion in the worker turnover. The disappointment among the workers is viewed as one of the significant reasons that have made abberations (Sparrow, Brewster and Chung, 2016). Workers should be given fundamental offices to be able to accomplish their objectives. There is where workers are confronting a high measure of weight because of the silly methodology of the administration. The untrustworthy conduct at their end has prompted genuine mishaps in the production line premises. Hence the association requires changes in the human asset the board with the goal that the objectives can be accomplished (Armstrong Taylor, 2017). Hazard related with supporting changes The adjustments in the association are hard to oversee for the director. The representatives are only one out of every odd time prepared to acknowledge the progressions presented in the association. In the given circumstance George and the new director were not in a similar line while executing the changes. George helped in supporting the association in fusing changes. It is critical to sift through the distinctions in the middle of the director and George to make sense of the distinctions. Most of changes identified with the progressions are identified with decrease of strikes done by the laborers. George being the delegate of the association can possibly control the chief so as to recover most extreme outcomes. It is vital for the administration to present changes in an orderly way by persuading the association chiefs. It will be simple for the person to suggest the progressions by sorting out the endeavors by centering upon the new changes. The essential focal point of the associa tion is to persuade the association agent to start changes (Wilton, 2016). Changes and new practices The arrangement of new chief has purchased in new changes in the authoritative culture. The new hierarchical structure received by the association is more centered around conveying singular yield instead of authoritative yield. Beforehand the association was centered around expanding the efficiency without giving any worry to the workers. The underlying change was in regards to the improvement in the workplace. It is critical to see that there was an expansion in the pace of mishaps under the past possession. It is seen that the organization has made significant costs on the foundation of the organization (Aswathappa, 2013). This has helped in building up the general objective of the organization. Singular intrigue is currently given more inclination over the authoritative intrigue. The new proprietor has enough assets to build up the framework to give productivity at the working environment. It is seen that the trucks were not working appropriately. Endeavors are made in the right h eading by improving the general framework so as to give safe workplace. Workers were provided appropriate preparing I request to adapt up to the hazardous circumstances. The endeavors are helping representatives in understanding their significance in the association. The new proprietorship has made a feeling of belongingness for the association. Representatives feels increasingly spurred and are concentrating on improving the general yield (Shields et al 2015). The given contextual analysis additionally centers around the positive changes that have occurred in the association after the exchange of the possession. There is a need to put forth an additional attempt to support the workers with the goal that they can give compelling outcomes. The administrative methodology in the association has changes to a huge degree .this has helped in making a feeling of belongingness. Representative currently has a sense of security to share their perspectives about the authoritative change (Story, 2014). More representatives are not partaking in the dynamic methodology. The administrators are presently thinking about the assessment of the representatives before actualizing an adjustment in the association. The representatives have now opportunity to talk their heart in an effective way. Presently the supervisor makes legitimate stride before executing any adjustment in the authoritative structure. Representatives feel progressively engaged and can focus towards their activity so as to give greatest result. The security is given more worry at the association and changes were executed by the prerequisites of the workers. The administration is presently giving successful preparing and advancement system in order to build up the representatives for a superior future. The help gave by the supervisor has helped the association to develop in a differentiated way (Gennard Judge, 2010). The association change is fundamental in the given circumstance due acts of neglect done by the past proprietor. There is a need to adjust the procedures in a proficient way in order to accomplish objectives. Presently the association feels increasingly good and substance with the new changes (Albrecht et al 2015). Supplementing compelling HRM rehearses The new methodology presented by the administration has helped the representatives in understanding their objectives. Presently the association is giving more consideration towards the representative intrigue. The new changes has helped hotel understanding the various objectives. The new practices presented by the administration have helped in consolidating positive changes. The new framework in association has helped in rousing the representatives. The new preparing and advancement program presented has helped the association in acknowledging different destinations. The new participative methodology has helped the administration in joining viable changes in the association. Representatives feel progressively engaged and can focus towards their activity so as to give most extreme result (Ntalianis, Dyer Vandenberghe, 2015). Association is considered as the gathering of individuals who works in an association. Each association has a specific delegate who goes about as a middle person in the middle of the administration and the association. This aides in conveying the thoughts in the association in a productive way (Gill Meyer, 2013). Contribution of Union at Workplace change According to my understanding, Blue Collared patrons are the person who are not permitted to share their perspectives in dynamic. They are not instructively much qualified and work according to the bearing given by the administration. They have a place with an extremely low monetary foundation and by and large get wages and pay. They are less engaged with the dynamic in an association (Gill Meyer, 2013). Then again Public area Union is the person who have a place with an occupation and administration level business. They are accomplished and get appropriate affirmation from the business. They are all the more instructively qualified and qualified to give their perspectives at the hour of dynamic. They are known for the specific information in the field. In like manner the organization takes recommendation from the Public part Union because of their insight with respect to the topic. The administration watches their proposal as suitable against the blue-caught transport Worker Union ( Gill Meyer, 2013). End This is important to comprehend that overseeing proficient representatives connection in the association is significant so as to get wanted outcome. There is a need according to the contextual analysis to fuse new thoughts and highlights to infer greatest outcomes. According to the above investigation it guaranteed that the association requires compelling appr

Thomas Jefferson Quotations

Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States. He was very important as one of the founding fathers of the United States. He wrote the Declaration of Independence. As president, his greatest achievement was the Louisiana Purchase which more than doubled the size of the US. He created numerous writings including his famous letters to political rival John Adams in his later years. Following are some quotes that shed light on Jeffersons beliefs. Thomas Jefferson Quotes But every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle. We have been called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists. Nature intended me for the tranquil pursuits of science, by rendering them my supreme delight. But the enormities of the times in which I have lived have forced me to take a part in resisting them, and to commit myself on the boisterous ocean of political passions. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. When a man assumes a public trust, he should consider himself as public property. A bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular; and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference. I view great cities as pestilential to the morals, the health, and the liberties of man. I know that the acquisition of Louisiana has been disapproved by some ... that the enlargement of our territory would endanger its union... The larger our association the less will it be shaken by local passions; and in any view is it not better that the opposite bank of the Mississippi should be settled by our own brethren and children than by strangers of another family? A little rebellion now and then is a good thing... The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground. Its soul, its climate, its equality, liberty, laws, people, and manners. My god! how little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!

Caring For The Elderly With Dementia Or Alzheimer s

We were all taught from a young age, that lying is a sin, that it should not be done and nothing good can come from lying. Researchers have come to the conclusion that this is not the case when it comes to caring for the elderly with dementia or Alzheimer s. In most cases lying can be beneficial and therapeutic to people with cognitive diseases and or disorders. Patients with dementia and Alzheimer s generally suffer from something called sundowning syndrome. Laurie udesky from caring.com describes this disease as â€Å"increased agitation and confusion that can occur anytime but may be more noticeable in the late afternoon or early evening.†(sundown syndrome). When a person is agitated they tend to get combative and forget where they are, what they re doing there, and who they are. Some residents often cry out for a deceased family member. A personal example that I have witnessed while working in a nursing home is that when residents start to sundown, they talk about how the y need to go home because there husband and child are waiting for them at home. How do you handle a situation like that without upsetting the patient and making things escalate quickly? Perhaps lying to them is considered bad but it may keep them calm enough to change to a different topic. Unethical Works, Unethical People Essays - Mike Barnicle

Unethical Works, Unethical People Unethical Works, Unethical People In the world of media today, an ethics code is one of the most important things to follow. Unfortunately, Mike Barnicle and Patricia Smith did not feel the same way. Mike Barnicle and Patricia Smith, both former workers for The Boston Globe, plagiarized and falsified information in order to bring forth newsworthy stories. Throughout this paper I will discuss the unethical acts of both Barnicle and Smith, the problems they caused for themselves, and the problems they caused for The Boston Globe. "The following is what happens when a company lacks consistent response to, and enforcement of, its core values and standards"(Hoffman 1). The summer of 1998 became one of the worst summers The Boston Globe has ever seen. For thirty years The Boston Globe had built itself a great reputation and had won twelve Pulitzer prizes. "The Globe even outshone its cross-town rival, the Boston Herald" (Hoffman 1). In 1973 the Globe hired a writer by the name of Mike Barnicle. Mike wrote about the Boston's working class. Including cops, single mothers, gas station owners, elderly immigrants and young veterans. Problems with Barnicle started to surface early in his Boston Globe career. The Globe settled two lawsuits stating that Barnicle plagiarized quotes of famous people. Also, a man by the name of Mike Royoko complained that Barnicle was copying his work. Many workers at the Globe then came to resent him and complained that he was arrogant. Just when it seemed that Mike Barnicle's problems were beginning to subside, on August 1, 1998, Barnicle wrote a column titled, "I was just thinking.....". A reader called the Globe and alerted the Boston Herald that many of the excerpts in Barnicles column actually came from George Carlins book, Brain Droppings. The column Barnicle had written was not his own work.. This was the worst case scenario for the Boston Globe because their competitor released the story first and at the same time revealing the earlier problems the Globe had had with Mike Barnicle. "The thirty eight, one-liners in the column included eight items similar to George Carlin's book, without citing Carlin as the source"(Jurkowitz 1). Here is an excerpt from the actual article that Barnicle wrote compared to the writings of George Carlin. The book: "If cockpit voice recorders are so indestructible, why don't they just build an airplane that's just one big cockpit voice recorder?"(Carlin;Jurkowitz 3). The column: "How come planes aren't made with the same indestructible material used to assemble those black boxes that always survive crashes?"(Barnicle;Jurkowitz 3). The book: "People who should be phased out: Guys who wear suits all day and think an earring makes them cool all night."(Carlin;Jurkowitz 3). The column: "I don't get it when guys over forty think they're cool because they wear an earring."(Barnicle;Jurkowitz 3). As you can see through this small excerpt, Mike Barnicle obviously took his column from George Carlin's book, even though Barnicle claims to have never read Carlin's book. This wasn't the end to Barnicle's unethical ways. In1995 Barnicle wrote a piece about two families with a child at Children's Hospital. The story had been told to Barnicle, but was never meant for news and the story was embellished and flawed in the retelling. Barnicle wrote that one family lost a child and the other family generously gave them a personal gift of ten thousand dollars, when in actuality a gift of five thousand dollars was given and it was given to go toward a scholarship, not a personal gift. Also the race of the child was not accurate. When The Boston Globe became aware of what Barnicle was doing they were outraged. The Globe immediately asked for Barnicle's resignation accusing him of plagarism and falsification. Barnicle states, "Plagiarism is not the word to use here. Laziness or stupidity might be."(Jurkowitz 2). Barnicle asked the Globe to run a final column so that he could argue his case. Barnicle's request was denied, but he was allowed to write a column announcing his resignation. So at the age of fifty-four in August of 1998, Barnicle resigned. In his resignation column he states, "My employment ended in forced resignation and personal disbelief this August when I could not immediately provide sources for a 1995 column that included the reconstruction of dialogue I had not actually heard directly."(Barnicle 5). Barnicle had worked at the Globe for twenty-five years and said that they were wonderful, but now it was time for him to do something different. Unfortunately the problems at the Globe did not stop with Mike Barnicle. Patricia Smith was also working at the Globe. Patricia was a fairly new employee,

What We Dont Say

What We Dont Say We have opinions about so many things in our lives, but there are so many we dare not express aloud. For instance, these are sure to spark a conversation at a party: 1) Not liking Christmas.2) Not liking to read self-published books.3) Not liking Duck Dynasty.4) Not liking babies.5) Not liking marriage.6) Not liking gay marriage.7) Not liking Republicans (or Democrats).8) Not liking cats. Any one of those will have people verbally at each others throats in 2.3 seconds. So we keep our opinions to ourselves in a society thats supposed to be grounded in free speech. This is fertile ground for writing material. Magazine markets love having the common, acceptable way of thought turned on its ear somehow to make for a more intriguing feature piece. Novels become trendsetters when they take the etiquettely unspoken and elaborate keenly and obnoxiously on the subject. The common way of thought does not make for a bestseller. Yet we fear taking stands on controversial topics. However, you can take a subject, catch attention with it, and still come out on the other end not terribly unscathed. For instance: 1) You hate Christmas. However, what about a story that involves a bunch of Christmas-haters coming together? Makes for a good freelance piece, short story, or chapter in a book. 2) You hate reading self-published books. However, you can create a fabulous blog post or magazine piece on the specifics of what you disliked in, say, five self-pubbed books so that people realize that there are reasons so many self-pubbed books fall 3) You dont like Duck Dynasty. However, you can do an article talking about how your dislike for Duck Dynasty made you study why so many people from all levels of society still enjoy it? Whats the reason for such an anomaly? 4) You dont like babies. What a great piece about how society pushes people to live the standard family structure, and you show some very successful, happy, non-ba You get the picture. When a subject sparks debate, take notice. These are the subjects that command attention, and ultimately contracts and sales.

Integration in SEC Football Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

Integration in SEC Football - Research Paper Example In southern US colleges, the policy of segregation was deeply ingrained. Universities and colleges refused to admit Black students. Thus, it was natural for their teams to be White with no African-Americans. After the Second World War, the University of northern states desegregated and they admitted numerous African-American players to their respective teams. In spite of this, southern schools remained fully segregated. These colleges went as far as refusing to play desegregated teams from universities from the North even if the games were played in the North2. The Southeastern Conference is a college athletic conference which operates in the southeast of the United States. It has its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Currently, it sponsors team championship in nine men's sports and twelve women's sports. This makes it one of the largest in the world. As a sports institution located in the South, it was plagued with the issue of segregation for many years. It was part of a larger effort to prevent mixing of Blacks and Whites in America. This trend changed when the changes of the Civil Rights Movement hit the institutions of the United States. In doing this, the following objectives would be met: The integration of African-American footballers into the SEC can best be described in the wider context of the SEC and its unique position in American history. This is because SEC football is just a subset of the SEC which went through several changes as a unit rather than in individual sports. Thus, the approach that can best be used would be to examine the SEC as a whole with the emphasis on football. Â

Rockwell Hardness Testing Lab Report Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Rockwell Hardness Testing - Lab Report Example Hardness is a measure of the resistance of a metal to permanent (plastic) deformation. The hardness of the metal is measured by forcing an indenter into its surface. The indenter material which is usually a ball, pyramid, or cone, is made of a material much harder than the material being tested. For example, hardened steel, tungsten carbide, or diamond are commonly used materials for indenters. For most standard hardness tests a known load is applied slowly by pressing the indenter at 90 degrees into the metal surface being tested. After the indentation has been made, the indenter is withdrawn from the surface as shown in the figure. An empirical hardness number is then calculated or read off a dial (or digital display), which is based on the cross-sectional area of depth of the impression. The hardness of a metal depends on the ease with which it plastically deforms. Thus a relationship between hardness and strength for a particular metal can be determined empirically. The hardness test is much simpler than the tensile test and can be nondestructive (i.e., the small indentation of the indenter may not be detrimental to the use of an object). For these reasons, the hardness test is used extensively in industry for quality control. The Rockwell Hardness test consists of many different scales for a range of different hardnesses. The B and C scale are the types used in this experiment. The B scale uses the spherical steel penetrator and the C scale uses the diamond cone shaped penetrator. Procedure for Experiment 1. Make certain the crank .It is kept in forward position, nearest to you. 2. Place the sample on the anvil, in position for test. 3. Select 100 and 150 kg combination of weights (being at the rear of the machine) . 4. Slowly turn the wheel spokes clockwise. This raises the anvil and sample toward the penetrator tip. After contact is gently made, continue raising sample until small pointer is about in line with the small black dot and the large pointer is within the colored sector. The minor load has now been applied to the sample. 5. After step 4, the large pointer on the dial is nearly vertical. Now, turn the knurled collar until the SET line on the dial scale is in line with and under the large pointer . 6. Depress the trip lever. This triggers the mechanism that applies the major load. The crank will automatically move away from you. 7. After the crank has come to rest, gently pull the crank back toward you as far as it will go. If this is done abruptly, a false reading

New Hire Mismanagement Essay Example for Free

New Hire Mismanagement Essay When accepting the position of a Campus Recruiter for ABC, Inc., there were specific tasks and expectations that go along with the job title. The specific tasks were explained however, due to the improper planning and poor execution, the individual failed to deliver what was outlined in the job title. This paper will explain the failures due to improper planning, lack of experience and poor time management skills. Furthermore, areas that will be outlined from this case study will include various detailed causes as well as; different solutions to strengthen the recruiting department and prevent any further weaknesses. Background In early April, Carl Robins, was new to the human resources department of ABC, Inc. â€Å"The Corporate Human Resources Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent† (Nourse, 2013). Mr. Robbins had taken on the needed task of hiring 15 individuals, which would work for the Operations Supervisor, Monica Carrolls. This recruiting position is responsible for selecting proper candidates, collecting proper identification and various paperwork such as; a resume, application, transcripts and payroll processing information. A background check, drug screen and a new hire physical must also be performed prior to anyone starting. In addition to the proper processing of the new hires, Mr. Robbins also is responsible for scheduling the new hire orientation and providing the proper materials such as; the manuals, policy booklets and training guides. In this case, Mr. Robbins had already advised the new hires of the required orientation on June 15th. The lack of experience and follow through, along with procrastination was a large factor in completing the tasks set forth for the recruiting position. Mr. Robbins was feeling overwhelmed and began to panic, due to the realization that the needed workforce would not be ready for Monica Carroll, as he previously assured. The failures will effect several people and cause the operations department to not have the new additions to their team and be ready to move forward. Key Problems There are numerous key problems with this case. Mr. Robins’s lack of experience as well as, poor communication and planning from the beginning, caused the situation to spiral, making the end result in complete failure. An incompetent and poorly functioning human resources department reflects the overall state of affairs of an organization and its possible uncompetitive position in the marketplace (Dutta, 2013). Carl Robbins started the hiring process accurately. He successfully hired 15 individuals however, without creating a new hire protocol, several items were missed. Furthermore, Mr. Robins seemed to be completely focused on the fact that he was able to fill the needed positions and impressing the operations supervisor, he failed to follow through from the beginning. The inexperience may also be a factor however, he was hired as a recruiter and gained six months of experience therefore, Mr. Robins knew what was expected of him. Procrastination plays a large role in the end result, as well. Carl did not immediately check with the training facility, even after receiving the call from Monica Carrolls. He waited more than 10 days to look at the training facility availability. Procrastination, weather it was due to lack of experience or being overwhelmed, does not matter in this case. The consequence remained the same, failure to complete the tasks by the needed time. In most cases, time management and procrastination go hand in hand however, Carl did not look at the specific tasks nor did he allot the appropriate time to get the job done by the specified time. Failure to either create a hiring protocol or follow the steps that should have been learned during his first six months of employment, adds additional issues of concern. Being that this was Mr. Robins first recruiting effort, he failed to discuss, clarify or even have the steps that he had already taken reviewed with a fellow recruiting teammate to assure both himself and the recruiting department that the new hires will indeed be ready to start their positions in July. Many of the issues could have been avoided simply by doing research or asking for help. Developing a sufficient protocol or schedule is key however, it is imperative that the proper research on wait times for drug screens, background checks and pre-employment physicals is done so scheduling will go smoothly. It is critical to ensure that you have the proper tools and information to complete the required tasks. Just like any position or task assigned, organization is critical. Carl was moving forward without knowing exactly how the pieces of the puzzle were to be put together. The recruiter did not utilize the appropriate tools such as, database, spreadsheets or check lists to ensure proper completion of the hiring process. Moreover, the recruiter did not set completion goals for each step to aid in this completion. Therefore, Carl did not see that there were numerous critical issues in the hiring process, which will not only affect the new hires, but will also cause delays for Monica Carroll and the operations department. Alternatives There are several alternatives that may strengthen the human recourses (HR) department in the future however, will not fix the current issue at hand. Implementing a new hire protocol that clearly defines each step of the process. Utilizing tools such as, specialized software that can be directly accessed from the outsourced screening companies to deliver new hire physical information, drug screening and background check results. This will allow the recruiter to access the file and make sure that the candidate is ready to begin work or notify when there is an issue with that specific candidate. Another alternative would be to hire an assistant recruiter or administrative assistant to process paperwork as well as, scheduling training rooms and ordering new hire training manuals, etc. Other options to consider would be to outsource the entire hiring process by using an outside recruiting company or using an agency to employ all the individuals that work for ABC Inc. A recruiting company would minimize and allow the human resources department to simplify duties such as, conducting final interviews of the candidates that have been previously screened by the recruiting company. Complete outsourcing of all personnel or employee leasing is costly however, it is another way to prevent cases like Carl Robbins, who failed to represent the company’s professionalism, screen the new hires and organize a new hire schedule. Employee leasing will remove all responsibilities of the employer including, candidate screening, payroll and benefits which would replace both the HR and payro ll departments. Unfortunately, in doing this ABC, Inc. would no longer be eligible for the tax credits that are given when a company hires welfare to work or Veterans. Another downfall would be losing the ability to solve an employment issue in-house. Proposed Solutions There are several proposed solutions mentioned in this case study. The most economic and immediate realistic solution would be to implement an outlined human resources protocol which would include, step by step policies and procedures to successfully start a new hire, creating a spreadsheet or a checklist to prevent critical errors and ensure that each steps are followed as well as, having detailed contact information for each company that is outsourced such as; drug testing and pre-employment physicals and background checks. An important part of the protocol would be to have a new hire orientation packet saved on file so, when the need arises or the inventory gets low, the recruiter can order copies to be made in a timely fashion. The remaining solution that would be outlined in the protocol would be to have the recruiter notate each completed or received paperwork on the checklist to ensure all the necessary paperwork and outsourced results are received. This outlined human resourc es guide and organizational tool would guide the recruiter into making sure all procedures and requirements are met. Recommendations Implementing the protocols would be crucial to the success of the human resources department. A recruiter is just like a salesperson, this is where the first impression is made. If implemented correctly, this will assure hiring the right individuals, which in return will allow ABC, Inc., reach its fullest potential. In this case study, Carol Robbins was not organized. There were no protocols in place to prevent these errors. Furthermore, there was not any direct supervision. It is recommended that the manager of human resources, review the hiring process directly with Mr. Robbins and make clear written expectations on the job requirements. It is further recommended that a clear, step by step protocol be put into place preventing these issues from arising again. Lastly, it is critical for the Manager of Human Resources to review all files before the file is completed and the new hire is scheduled for training. This shall continue until Mr. Robbins clearly understands the policies and procedures.
